How Solar Panels Works
Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity using photovoltaic (PV) cells. The cells are made of semiconductor materials, such as silicon, which absorb the sunlight and release electrons. The electrons are then captured by metal contacts on the cell and transferred to a power inverter, which converts the DC electricity into AC electricity that can be used to power your home or business.

An inverter converts electricity produced by the solar panels from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC).
The energy is used in your home.
A bi-directional meter measures the energy used and excess energy produced.
Excess energy from your solar panels not used in your home or office goes back to your battery storage or the electrical grid, which then can be re-used.
